Comms Multilingual Ltd places great importance on the correct, lawful, and fair handling of all personal data, respecting the legal rights, privacy, and trust of all individuals with whom it deals.

The GDPR gives more rights to individuals and more obligations to us when we process your personal data. Our new GDPR Privacy Policy is now on the web site and freely available for all to view. Also on our web site, you will find our general Comms GDPR policy.

We are also now compliant with the other aspects of the GDPR in the areas where we process personal data.

In the course of its business, Comms Multilingual Ltd processes personal data of its:

• Clients
• Prospective Clients
• Employees
• Suppliers

Included in this is personal data contained in documents for translation. Documents for translation present a particular challenge as the content may contain personal data. We routinely treat all documents for translation as confidential and have various safeguards and processes to ensure confidentiality and to protect your content.

In order for us to provide you with the best quality translations in the shortest timescales, our translators may be based in different countries, including in countries outside the EEA and those not deemed to have adequate Data Privacy laws under the GDPR.

This situation is common to all Language Service Providers in the EU and is a fundamental feature of our industry. We are working on practical solutions to address this issue and expect to provide a GDPR compliant pathway for translation content in due course.
