COMMS IS 15 YEARS YOUNG! This year, we are celebrating Comms Multilingual’s 15th anniversary. To mark the occasion, we have various events going on throughout the year, and we’ll be attending our usual conferences with a special something on offer.

So far, we’ve headed out to San Antonio, Texas, where we’ve shared cocktails (our very own Commsmopolitan) and birthday cake. You can see the blueberry cupcakes on the right in the special Comms 15th birthday boxes at our booth and the bar behind Cicek was ready to go with our Commsmopolitan cocktail.

We also attended the annual AAPOR conference in Denver for the first time and Sue and Graham are off to Australia in August to attend and exhibit at the AHRI (Australian Human Resources Institute) in Melbourne for the first time. September will see Sue, Cicek and Sam at the E-ATP conference in Athens and we will be celebrating our 15th there as well.

Sue Orchard, the Founder of Comms, commented on the last 15 years:

“I can hardly believe that we have been going for 15 years already. The time seems to have flown by and we are looking forward to an exciting future. Our philosophy has always been to cultivate excellent relationships with both our clients and our providers such as the translators. I think that the number of referrals we get from clients is testament to the the quality of work we produce and the long-term partnerships we have with our clients.

We have also been working with many of our translators, proofreaders and SMEs for a long time and this enables them to build up a real understanding of our clients’ needs and preferences. Our company philosophy is very much one of helping one another and creating an excellent working environment, where people can learn and develop. Our people are at the centre of everything we do and their dedication and hard work enables us to keep at the forefront in our areas of specialisation.

Our actual birthday was in February, but when we had our 10th birthday, we went to London for the day and the weather was not kind to us, so for our 15th, we decided to celebrate in June. We all went into London for the day and went to see the musical “Kinky Boots”. It was awesome with superb singing and dancing, and a lot of fun. We then took a leisurely stroll along the lovely South Bank and ended up at the Shard, the tallest building in London, where we went to the bar on the 31st floor to enjoy cocktails and the fantastic view over London. This was followed by en excellent Italian dinner and we all had a really good day. I now have to think up something to surpass that for our 20th!”
