We are excited to announce that Comms Multilingual will be attending the 51st Annual International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) Conference as a sponsor.
Taking place from 27 September – 2 October 2026 in Toronto, Canada, the conference will bring together professionals from across the international educational assessment community to share ideas, discuss emerging challenges and explore the future of assessment.
This year’s theme, “Trust, Transparency and Technology in Educational Assessment,” will explore some of the most important issues shaping the sector today, from fairness and equity to digital assessment and the growing role of technology and AI.
Supporting educational assessment across languages

Education and assessment are important sectors for Comms Multilingual, and we have extensive experience supporting organisations that develop and deliver assessments, tests and learning content internationally.
Joining the IAEA will give us the opportunity to support an important event for the educational assessment community while meeting organisations facing many of the same multilingual challenges that we help our clients solve every day.
When assessments are delivered across different languages and cultures, translation needs to consider much more than linguistic accuracy. Wording, terminology, cultural context and accessibility can all influence how a question is understood and, ultimately, the fairness and comparability of an assessment.
Our team supports organisations with the translation, localisation and adaptation of assessments and related content, alongside services including translation verification, terminology management, quality assurance, bias review and in-context review.
We are looking forward to the conversations around fair and equitable assessment, culturally responsive practices, technology and multilingual delivery, and to sharing some of what we have learned from our work with assessment organisations around the world.
Meet our team in Toronto
Our President and CEO, Sue Orchard, and Business Development Director, Steffie Danquigny, will be representing Comms Multilingual at the conference.
Sue and Steffie are looking forward to meeting professionals from across the international education and assessment community, hearing about the challenges organisations are currently facing and discussing how specialist language services can help make assessments more accessible, reliable and effective across languages and markets.
