International Days: Portuguese Language Day
Portuguese has more than 200 million native speakers, making it the fifth-ranked language and it is also the most widely spoken language in South America. In 2019 UNESCO decided to declare the 5th of May as World Portuguese day, an honour that was given for the first time to an unofficial UNESCO language.
